As my old logitech g15 rev 1 is starting to get on a bit im in the market for a new keyboard. So ive decided to look into buying a mechanical type. Primarily an fps gamer so ive been looking at red and black switch models. In particular the Qpad MK-50 as theyre within my budget. Opinions/advice appreciated guys.:)

Sry to thread hijack but I'm after exactly the same thing :D
No budget, was thinking of brown switches?

Oh and a backlight is a plus.

I really like my Gigabyte Osmium, nice wrist wrest, volume scroll, backlit, red switches :)

Most will tell you to go for a Ducky or something though.

Unfortunately dont have the budget for any of the Duckys, i had been looking at the ozone strike as well though out of stock here. No need for backlit keys either, mostly playing fps such as bf3/4 and a bit of crysis 3.

I bought the Qpad MK-50 a few months ago and it has been great.
I primarily play FPS games and it's fine. I went with the brown switches after doing some research, they perform perfectly in games as well as typing.

Depends a bit from person to person. I swear by blacks for pure FPS gaming but I dislike them for general use and/or other types of games where reds provide a better compromise.

I saw a corsair k70 for £90 awhile back but it hasn't been that price since :(

Anyway I don't imagine keyboards making much difference if they have the same caps so whatever takes your fancy

Update on this. Just ordered the ozone strike pro red switch model. Good price of £74.99 from ocuk. Just as well as my old kb packed in a few days ago.
