Media Centre on XP Pro

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get media centre on a XP Pro version on Windows, I dont wana go spend 50$ just for a media centre program when I could install it on my Pro version, any help?

Why don't you check out some of the open source Media Centre alternatives like Media Portal, Myth TV and GB-PVR?

Media Portal gave me some very strange..(and scary) errors. Havent heard of the other two, will give them a try, do they have the same features as MC? Lke TV etc?

create a new user account and install media portal on it

Why new user account? My family also sometimes use this computer so I have most of my prograsm set to me "me only" programs. And i liek to multitask

Media Portal messed with my sound drivers...well..I think it did, that or a windows update on the same day!
