Hi all
I was thinking of putting together a media pc but have a couple of questions.

  1. what software do people use to run there media on it for replay on plasma 42".
  2. With iso's anyone using anything that has an automount function, was thinking of converting my dvd's into iso's
  3. What menu you use for selection.
  4. Any issues/considerations that i should think about.
  5. What OS people use.

Was thinking maybe try and find something that watch's a folder then auto mounts any iso for playback. As easy as possible so to set up to use a remote instead of a keyboard.

Any links would be appericiated

many thanks

get vista home premium.
Use the media centre.
Don't convert to iso. Just copy the vob files.
Enable dvd gallery in vista

vista media centre, with dvd gallery as above. Don't use ISO's, extract them on the HDD and get the art by downloading files from dvdxml.com.

Vista media center has ease of use in my opinion. Plus you can get media center remotes which makes things easier for you :)

did you convert the vob's to one single vob. Or you just have the whole video folder

the whole folder.

If you get dvdfab, it will automatically just select the main movie if you want it to.

And it's so much faster than encoding...
