It plays anything :) I have been suing MPC to play everything but WMV files for like ever only because WMP seems like the natural choice for them...soon to change perhaps!

My fav keyboard shortcuts are 1,2,3 to change skin style and ALT 1,ALT 2,ALT 3 to change between 50% size, 100% size and autofit based on screen resolution whilst being friendly with the size!

Thx, Media player+VLC to playback any format both my favs ;)

I have noticed Media player struggling with some of the HD content lately hopefully this will make it a lot better ;)

Its Media Player HC (Home Cinema), just in case anyone was wondering if this was a specific release for HD content and not seeing it on the download page. :)

Oh, if you have problems playing high definition h.264 stuff CoreAVC is worth a try in conjunction with your favourite player it's $7.95 but works a treat on my ageing computer.

I love MPC, it's the best media player I have used.

The only thing I don't like is that it drops you out of fullscreen when using a second monitor :(

I posted about the DXVA support when it first came out in Home Cinema & Hi-Fi. Wrong section obviously cuz no one there cared! Hah. Have to say this works brilliantly, ALL 720p content is accellerated and L4.1 compliant 1080p streams too. Wonder why its taken CoreAVC devs this long and they STILL havent put GPU accelleration into their product.

I need software for dvd playback, would you suggest MPC or is the above mentioned VLC player better? I have an older version of Power DVD (ver 5) that I could install, but what would you suggest for best dvd playback?

I use to be a mpc junky and couldnt stand vlc but then i saw the light.

vlc or mpc either should be okay, avoid cyberdink though

Please excuse my ignorance, but whats the difference between this an the normal MPC?

Is there some extra decoders built in or something?

Thanks, soz bit confused by it :)
