Media Player??

Was unsure where to put this, but will probly get most views here.

So my Ps3 has just died, it was only really used it to watch Avi files and the odd DVD/Bluray. not played a game on it in years.

I was wondering are there any cheaper BETTER alternatives to buying another PS3, like a smallish computer or media player, with USB support HDMi output and maybe a Bluray drive

You can get 1080p media players with hdmi and USB for about 30 quid.

Not sure on the blu ray drive..

Are there blu ray players that will play e.g mkv / xvid etc over a LAN or USB.?

oooh for less than £30 how can i not give it a try, my Blurays are all cack anyway apart from Toystory, so i'm not really bothered about them.
