Medical forums?

Seeing as medical questions aren't allowed here I was wondering if anyone knew of any other forums where users can discuss medical problems, mental health problems in particular.
 
Google gives a few.
Not sure I'd want to spend too long talking to mentally issued others!

Obviously any advice given would be taken with a massive pinch of salt and any serious problems would still be dealt with by a GP but it would be nice to have somewhere you can talk openly about these things.
 
There do seem to be various forums run by seemingly reputable organisations that have doctors signed up as well. Can't think of any off hand but a google will will bring up a few.

(Yeah, pointless post really, sorry)

A week or two ago I was watching an old episode of Time Team on 4OD. They were trying to determine if they'd found evidence of a medieval leper hospital. I realised that I knew almost nothing about leprosy, so I paused the video and went looking in another window for information about leprosy. A few minutes later, for a few seconds, I'd managed to make myself worried that I might have the initial symptoms of leprosy.

Just read a thread in there about a guy who is convinced his has HIV spending so much money on tests which all says they are negative and he just wont believe it. Rather amusing the guy is clearly nuts and is seeing the wrong professional.

Some medical threads are allowed. If you're under going treatment and want to share your experiences or your about to under go treatment and you want to ask if any other members have had similar experiences this is fine.

What isn't permitted is posting with symptoms and asking the forum what they think is wrong with you and how you should treat it. The reason of this is;

1. You might have something really bad, but don't consult a doctor because someone told you you'd be right as rain in a couple of days.

2. This is GD, so someone will tell you to smear mustard on your nads and then wrap them in a pancake.
