Meet the Parents

I went with a lot of girls whose parents I was to nervous to meet and so I didn't meet them which kind of destoyed a lot of them ( edit: change to all ) but I was a lot younger then, since those times I have meet quite a few potential in laws and it is never as bad as you think it's gonna be, just a natural progression in the relationship it is ;)

The wedding is going to be fun then........

Tell a lie he does have the odd glass of wine etc, but thats it.

Rest of the family drink but he split his head open on his 21st and spent time in hospital.....vowed to never to get drunk again.

Wedding

I know you've probably been waiting, wondering and worrying as to how I got on over the weekend (or not) so here is my update.

Well I met her parents and they were absoloutly nothing like I expected  They were actually a dream to get on with. We went for lunch and instantly seemed to get on, it was a bit like going out with some older friends or something.

My girlfriend said it was as if we had met before and It totally felt like that. Pleased I agreed to meet them as next weekend should be much less awkward now. She txt last night and said they had phoned her and said they both thought I was great :)

So no funny stories I'm afraid. :(

Thats no fun, I wanted fire works, or a meet the parents style story of a shambles.

Worst meet the parents I've experienced is over breakfast whilst I was at Uni, the girls mother comes down where we are eating toast and watching the normal sunday morning junk on T4 and her mother says

"Good morning James, good night last night?" (we had been into town and got wrecked before all you pervs start thinking the worng thoughts).

Girlfriend replied, "No Mum, this is Si"

"Oh, what happened to James?"

Hahah, nice!

My boyfriends tend to eventually meet my dad, which is always fun - he's an outspoken Swede who will constantly tell you how great Sweden is, how rubbish England is, how pasty-skinned we Brits are, how rainy it is over here, how rubbish we are at Eurovision, he'll take the mickey out of anything he can find in the boy to take the mickey out of, blah blah blah... But he's generous with the beer and an absolutely top bloke as long as you answer back :D I can see how he can be a little intimidating, heheh...

My current lad may be faced with it this summer, we'll see! His parents sound very cool from what he's said. The mums of the last two boyfriends have been the type to always stick their nose into everything, one was even midly schizophrenic, and one of the dads ran off with a 20-year-old so really, I'm not scared of parents any more...
