Megabus begin coaches to Europe!

Wow wifi, tablet heaven.

Nothing from Bristol though, is it London only?

Milton Keynes and Lecister as well.

I imagine once everyone whips out their tablets/phones and log onto the wifi it'll be awfully slow. Good prices but I really struggle with coach journeys. I can't sleep on them at all which doesn't help.

I hope it comes with a toilet, incredible price though.

That + a hostel for a long weekend would be amazing.

And a long weekend it would be if it takes almost 10 hours to get there.

Eurostar, there in 2 hours and frankly the 60-70 quid return fare if you book in advance (As you need to for Megafail) is very reasonable.

An extra 60 quid is well worth it to save 16 hours of travel time!

Wow this is great!

Ive got the coach a couple of times to Amsterdam and back, cheapest I got was £44 return.

Just had a look on the megabus site and for April looking at £11 return..bargain.

Are they using the tunnel or a boat?

Wifi in the French country side? How do the buses get the connection, satellite or 3G?

But Eurostar is worth the speed alone, and its much more relaxing then a coach.

What are megabus seats like? Comfortable for a long journey? Also power outlets for charging devices?

An ideal 4 day weekend away on a photographic expo with friends is perfect for something like this surely!

I just dont get why though? Lets take London to Paris (As you've got to go via London anyway with Megafail).

Random long weekend, out 17th May back 21st May.

Megafail: £6 return. Total travel time 18 hours.
Eurostar: £69 return. Total travel time 4 hours 30 minutes.

I mean seriously, it's a trip to Paris for a long weekend. Just how is spending 18 hours on a bus worth it to save £62? It's not is it? If you went Eurostar you'd basically end up with almost 2 extra days in Paris for your money as you are not spending the ENTIRE day sat on a bus!

Just what is the appeal?

As its cheap. £62 is still a fair bit of money.

Megabits + hostel and you can have a weekend away, at barely anymore cost than a weekend in your own city.

And if you get night bus and sleep. It's hardly wasted time.
Now for a normall weekend away I agree, but for something dirt cheap, that's a fair bit difference in price.

Think of students or anyone else on a as,sibely tight budget.

I don't know, I've never used a coach before other than on school trips in years 1-4 I guess (serious) so have no experience! It might be a long time on a coach but the savings combined can easily be put to other uses and if the trip is planned carefully enough then use of time can be maintained I guess.

At that price I now want to go to Paris!

But that means having to pay about £50+ to travel to and back from London .... Bah!
