At the Carling Academy in Newcastle :D

Anyone else going tonight, or going to see them at all on this tour? After the Wildhearts I might take some ear-plugs with me tonight - gawd I'm getting old. :D

I lost them at Countdown.. I have to say my favourite megadeth song still is Mary Jane.. superb.

You lucky, lucky barsteward!

If you like The Wildhearts try and get to see Airbourne.
Airbourne are largely influenced by ACDC and I think they were a tribute band in a former life but live they owe more to The Wildhearts.
Good luck with Megadeth you lucky boy.

They've just finished their UK tour, I think, judging by the stuff on their forum. Nuts! :(

I'm going to the Brixton Academy on Sunday, looking forward to it, although I don't know much about the support acts, Job For A Cowboy and Evile.

I'll let you know what I think of them - all I know is that Evile is from the UK and my little bro says Job for a Cowboy are "ok-ish" but he has dubious musical taste :D

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Are they doing any other venues in England?

Would love to watch them live, even though i'd prefer it were the Friedman, Menza, Ellefson years :(

Just checked and they still have shows in Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester and Brixton. No idea if tickets are available, though. I've had mine since last year - soon as I saw the advert I gave my friends 24 hours to give me a yes or no because I went down and got them.

Huh, I didn't realise they were touring. I'd have gone to see them in Newcastle.

They were the first proper band I ever saw live during the Rust in Peace tour.

Hah! Just read the "Metro" review for tonight's gig.

Tired, rubbish, nothing new, fronted by a man still bitter at being chucked out of Metallica twenty years ago, apparently the only thing that Megadeth have going for them is longevity

The author sounds like he has a massive problem with Dave Mustaine and Megadeth in general. What a plank. Maybe he's a Metallica fan upset at them losing their best guitarist when they went separate ways.....oooooh, was that a can of worms I opened? :D

Take no prisoners - take no ****! ;)

Seen them last night in the Carling academy glasgow, was an amazing gig although job for a cowboy are terrible and evile broke down somewhere and didnt make it. Managed to get Chris Broderick's pick aswell.

Lol funny he wrote that when Metallica's music has gone south and 'Deth have consistently made quality albums since the start.

I had tickets for Nottingham and Manchester but I broke my foot so had to sell my Nottingham tickets still going to Manchester on Saturday though! Will be my third time seeing them can't wait!

Whoohoo! Bad head this morning :D

Right, A quick review. Never made it in time to see Evile (a blessing, perhaps?) and Job For A Cowboy got boo'd off the stage (I was only subjected to about 20 minutes of them). Only a true fan could have liked them - it was total gibberish. And someone tell me the point of saying, in a normal voice "hi everyone, we're JFAC and this song is called...." and then changing to a growl which no bugger can understand. I usually feel a bit bad when a band gets boo'd off, but they were total pants.

Anyway, on to the main course :) Megadeth were absolute class. Really, really tight - even during the solos - I was really impressed. Not a lot of banter, but we didn't need it. The place was rocking from start to finish.

\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

For those who were concerned about what they might play, there was only three or four tracks off their new album (which I don't have), one of which was quite good. Lot's of oldies there :) off the top of my head:

Skin O' My Teeth
Hangar 18
Symphony of Destruction
A Tout le Monde
Peace Sells
Take No Prisoners (yay for my comment yesterday!)

and plenty more...

Awesome night - had a great time and Megadeth kicked all kinds of ***. Fan-bloody-tastic :D

Sounds good to me and I'm glad they don't play all of the new album, because it isn't that great, apart from two or three tracks.

My favourites are mentioned, so I'm looking forward to this and as I've only ever seen them supporting AC/DC at the Milton Keynes Bowl a few years ago, I'll be seeing them headline for the first time.:D
