MegaDrive

The good old Megadrive, it was my first console and still got it. I was so addicted to it, got told off so much by my parents.
Those RPGs Gackt listed are fantastic. I remember Sword of Vermilion, that was a class game.
Also loved Toe Jam & Earl, Thunderforce 3 amongst the many hundreds of games.

My brother got a handheld megadrive recently which has about 20 games on it. So great classics such as Golden Axe, Eswat, Ecco and even that not so classic Altered Beasts. haha

Those were the days!

Megadrive was awesome, still better to get the console so you can pick up the MegaCD and Sonic CD to go with it. I don't think that's appeared in any retro game collections.

I've been looking at picking up a MegaCD and Sonic CD at some point, is it worth the cost though? I'd need the MegaCD that works with the first release Megadrive and I doubt I'd buy any more games for it. Don't like missing out on quality 2d Sonic joy though.

The NBE Jam talk though, pure awesome 2 player joy.

IMHO it's totally worth it; it may be the only decent MegaCD game, but it's one of the most unique 2D sonics ever made. Opinions range from 'Best sonic ever' to 'Meh', but if nothing else it's worth it for SONIC BOOM!

(Then again, didn't the UK version have a rap intro...I used to own a US copy)

Both the Mega CD and Mega CD II work with the original MegaDrive. So just grab whichever you see. I know this because I have a Megadrive (original) and Mega CD II myself :) Still got the old beasts lurking around somewhere. Managed to score a brand new Japanese one off an auction site a while ago too - had never been opened, all bags still sealed as well.

This reminds me, I should get my old megadrive/megacd down from the loft, been years since I last played on it, hope it still works. Off topic I seem to remember reading that there is a game for the 360 coming out this year which has around 50 megadrive games on it.

edit: I see you've already noticed :D

Only got a half day at work today and day off tomorrow! Time to dig out the megadrive and N64 me thinks.

Going to start my morning off with cannon fodder on megadrive! and finish off with some Diddy Kong Racing on N64!!

Streets of rage 3 for £75 on the bay?

WTF who would pay that much for it?!? i have 4 copys of it at home all still boxed..

If you have a brain you wouldnt pay anything and just download Emulators and Roms and play them like that without spending anything...
