Purchased in good faith what I believe to be a genuine win xp Pro sp2? The thing is the disk says reinstallation cd and Dell somewhere. It also has a product key and a blue booklet that says "for distribution with a new pc". Its just that this disk is not shiny or holographic like the other genuine copies of xp. Anybody know anything about this? Thanks

It will be a genuine cd, it's just oem. It's also likely to fail the windows genuine advantage test. Most of these oem discs, the serials have been leaked so microsoft will of added them on to the list.

Dell ones are usually green, no holograms. Microsoft where doing a free exchange in return for the sellers details, not sure if they still do this.

If you got it from ebay, probably not much you can do as I'm sure will of been listed as oem or similar.
