membership software

Hi anyone know anything at all about membership software?

I am trying to help a friend out who runs a Snooker Club.

He wishes to have basically all the members of the Snooker Club on the computer. With there membership number, name, address, phone number, email etc, Plus a way of the software reminding him at a certain time when memberships are due so he and the software can print membership forms out.

Any idea? I am sure maybe this can be done in Excel or Access which I have. But I would have no idea where to start.

maybe there is someone out there who can give me some guidance.

Have you checked the office online templates?

Excel and Access could both do this, essentially you just need a database.

Would you prefer an offline / online solution (remember to think about backups if this is the master membership database), and liklihood of anyone stealing it and having all their details.

Something branded specifically for the snooker industry will probably come at a premium so it might be worth looking at gym membership software. My local gym use a freeware software that allows you to swipe in with your card and have a photo on your account with all the required details etc. I will try and find out what its called next time Im in.

Hi, this will purely be used off line & in back office, no swipe card etc needed.

Just a way of having all members on the computer with there details & a way of it reminding you when a particular members membership is due to expire so a letter can be sent out.

I just have no experiance with Excel / Access at all for databases.

So it would just be. For eg:

Member name / member number / address / telephone / email / joined / expires / etc

The gym membership software I mentioned above you can just type in their number to get their record up but surely you will want someone on the front desk to check if their membership is still valid so will need access?
