Hi, i have a formula rampage motherboard it takes ddr2 mem or ddr3 mem, at the moment i am running it with ddr2 ocz 8500 platium memory it goes to 3.51 on a quad core 2.44ghs wil ddr3 make any difference.

Asus Rampage Formula is DDR2 only.

Asus Rampage Extreme is DDR3 only.

It says on the asus web it takes ddr2 or ddr3 and it also says in the manual to thats why i bought it.

Just look at your board, DDR2 and DDR3 are physically different.

Most combo boards have 2 DDR3 slots and 4 DDR2 like this:

Is the board linked below your one, if it is, it can only take DDR2 like mentioned above.

I owned a Rampage Formula for 4 months and it only takes DDR2 as i had 4 x 2GB sticks running in it,so god knows where you have found this information from.

My Rampage Formula will only take DDR2.
