Well im getting a little confused by this.

I thought the memory on the 8800GTX was supposed to be 1800MHz.
But firing up NVMonitor I have seen it at 900, and at 1270. Yeah its confusing me.

Has playing with NVtune been messing things around?
Is the card autotuning the memory and it ramps itself up when needed?

Does NVmonitor just not read correct?

And yes before anyone says anything I am going to stop messing with NVtune.

900 mhz is DDR so you double it meaning 1800 mhz effectively

Thanks, I figured that was what it was, but then after playing planetside or medieval 2 I noticed it had got to 1270... Which did throw me off a bit.

So it is ramping up when needed then.

NV monitor.

I would say something like "Nvidia should be able to make a program to report values on there own cards correctly" but then I might have to roll on the floor laughing.

wierd... Everything seems to work ok.
Getting 16000 in 3dmark 2005 which puts it about right.
Medieval 2 seems happy and planetside gives me 500fps or 100 in large battles.

Nvmonitor is a pile of unreliable **** , start it up it reads fine , run virtually any other program along side it at all the figures go to **** , apparently my system memory (DDR1) runs at 766mhz no less and also an X2 @ 5.0+ ghz anyone ?
God sake Nvidia get ya finger out ya ass and sort these crappy drivers out.

use Rivatuner...excellent and easy to use tool! Will give you memeory speeds and core..leaving the monitor running and you will also see the 3d speed change when you go into a game. Best for OC'ing card also.
