Memory Compatability

Hi,

Got some new ram for an upgrade on a Asus M4A78LT-M LE board and can't get it to boot.

I've put in 2x4GB ballistix PC3-10600 CL9 - part number BLS3CP4G3D1339DS1S100CEU.

I can't see any reason why it would not support these sticks (not on the QVL for the board, but it's the right type of memory from what I can see).

Now it's possible the modules are duff, but we're sold as having never been used as the person only wanted one of the 4Gb modules of this 12gb kit.

Any ideas as to why this wouldn't work on this board before I look at returning it?

No reason at all.

You tried each stick individually?

Yes, tried that and won't boot on either.

I will see if I can try them in a different machine I guess.

Tested in the GF's machine and it's fine.

This one has me puzzled.

Try a BIOS update.
