MEMORY COMPATIBILITY HELP...

I currently have 2x512 gig (Corsair 1GB DDR XMS4400C25PT) in my computer but wish to upgrade this.

I have one slot left and would like to know what ram would be compatible.

I have a Asus K8 deluxe MB (cant remember the full name at the moment)

Could I got for a stick of 1gig or would i have to select one 512mb?

Any help is much appreciated.

Most mobo's you can run up to four sticks. The ideal is a matched pair to get dual channel bonus.

If you can down load the motherboard manual it will advise you on recommended memory specs.

iys s754 so dual channel makes no diff.
best option would be to sell this stuff and buy a 2Gb pack. you will end up getting a completely different version of corsair memory unless you brought your 1gb pack recently, and you may end up having all kinds of problems. (they sometimes use different chips on different revisions).
