Memory compatibility help

A word to the wise- chances are the motherboard will come with an older BIOS version, and theres a good chance it will need updating to run the faster memory. Had the problem with a CPU that was technically supported, but needed to be updated to recognise it. IF it runs as is, fine, but if it doesnt like itm an update may well be the solution.

Should I download the latest bios to a USB stick before installing the new mobo, CPU and ram?

If you check the asus download page for your mobo, and choose bios, it will indicate the effect of each update. Find the version you have, and see if any of the later versions update to include your new parts. If they do, then you will need to update- if thats the case, probably as good to go to the latest version. If not, you can just plug in and go. If it doesnt boot, swap the old parts back in and update.
