Hey guys! Got a small conundrum here. My computer is regularly warning me I am low on memory, and I'm not sure whats using it all up.

Before anyone shouts 'Task Manager' at me, the most memory usage at this very second is 2.1gb by Ark (testing it out this weekend), and I have 16gb am. I cant see how all the rest of the system is using up so much.

I have a webcam I use for security sake as I live in a bit of a dodgy area and like to keep an eye on my car, and that apparently uses up 20% of my cpu at any given time :/ but memory isnt very high on it, 100mb, and thats the second highest on the list.

whats the rest of your PC spec? are you running windows 10?

I had a similar issue with a Toshiba laptop which had 6GB in in the end I went back to 7 as everything looked fine.

do you get the issue when gaming only or even when your just browsing the web?

last screen shot shows 13.4GB being used

try going to resource monitor (at the bottom of the last screen shot) and click on memory to see if anything shows up under there

are you looking at virtual size in task manager as opposed to working set (I guess you have turned on all memory related statistics and total across all processes comes nowhere near to 16GB ?)
The paging file size is smaller by default on win 10, so there is more possibility for low memory warnings (as demand approaches mem+paging), unless you increase it back to win 7 value.
also discussed in another thread over past weeks

... had not looked at images but yes theses show 15.6GB committed so just need to find out who took it from task manager ... and probably increase paging size

Yeah apologies, I should have filled in more blanks here!
Its only when gaming. I'm thinking I may have discovered the issue though. The resource monitor was a bit odd, it said 3gb of Modified memory. No idea what thats all about! But I then realised I moved the page file a while back and have since upgraded to windows 10, so the changes may not have carried over.
Basically I have no page file! Which isnt ideal. I did it to save space a while back but now my OS SSD is a lot bigger so its all good!

Cheers for the help both of you!

Move it back to the SSD and limit the size.

I have mine set to my SSD but with a min of 1024mb and a max of 2048mb and I have no issues, with no page file I was getting the same messages.

I did this to save space on my OS SSD, I also only had 6GB of ram

glad you have found the issue though :D
