Hi,
Looking to buy some new ram for my Abit Kv7 (Via KT600) mother board. at the moment i have 2 x 512 DDR pc2100 ram installed. This gives me 1 spare slot free.
below are the specs from manual :
* Three 184pin
DIMM sockets
* Supports 2 DIMM Unbuffered DDR 333/400
(Max. 2GB)
* Supports 3 DIMM Unbuffered DDR 266 (Max. 3GB)
I would like to install 3 gigs of ram so that would mean buying 3 sticks of memory but the manual says that you have to use DDR 266 to install 3 sticks, but when i run a compatibility test on Crucial.com it list as saying you can install 3 x 1gig ddr333 and doesnt give the option of 3 x ddr266.
i have the latest bios for my motherboard installed.
can anyone shine any light on my problem.
Thanks
Tim
