Looking to put together the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK)

..but unsure which DDR2 memory is the best for this set up. I seen posted that the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit is good but its only £81.00 which seems cheep as i've seen mem for over £200.

I'm not looking to OC but need the mem to be future prof so if i need to spend a bit to complement my new system so be it.

The Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300C3 would be fine or the PC2-6400C4 would also do, apparently they are the same memory, just spec'ed at different speeds.

I am using the PC2-6400C4 with the E6600. :)

I'd spend the other 30 quid and get the 8500s ...

I'm limited a bit in my overclocking with my Corsair 6400 - wish I'd bought higher-spec memory.

currently having to run it at 720MHz CAS5 (the RAM) -wheras if I had the Ballistix 8500 I could probably get away with 1070 .... :)

Their no need to buy 8500 memory. IMO

The Crucial 5300 should clock to 800MHZ 4-4-412 quite easily.

And if your not overclocking, i would actually go for a AMD system.
