If I try to overclock my E6600 using Gigabytes C.I.A2 dynamic overclocking in the BIOS I get blue screens in windows complaining about memory. I read somewhere (sorry I lost the link) that the FSB : DRAM should be set to 1:1 to resolve the problem, is this correct?

That would mean that my PC6400 Ram would run at the same as my CPU bus speed which is 266Mhz * 2 for dual channel = 532Mhz rather than 800Mhz as it is supposed to be. It all sounds a bit weird having to underclock the ram so much but it solved my problem and allows me to overclock the CPU.

Also if I increase the voltage of the RAM to 2.1 (currently defaults to 1.8) could that be the cause of the blue screens when running the RAM at 800Mhz as this is what voltage Corsair suggest for my ram? If so how do I go about doing that on a Gigabyte P35 DQ6 motherboard as Ive looked everywhere and can’t find it.
 
If your ram voltage is 2.1 as corsair state set the ram at the recommended voltage. Under volting the ram by default 1.8 in bios can cause instability problems as you describe in your above post. Reset ram voltage in bios and enter timings manually.
 
I tried increasing the overvoltage control to +0.30 but CPU-Z still says the voltage is 1.8:

Also why is there 2 sets of timings? (see screenshot)
 
That always says 1.8v.

Everest and probably Speedfan will tell you that it's 2.1v.
 
Leaving CPUZ out of the frame for the minute. Are you still getting BSOD's? after you have amended the memory voltage to 2.1v via the bios?

If you have set ram voltage in bios to 2.1v (as Cob points out +0.3v) (I presume your +0.30v is a typo error?)

No not a typo, in the BIOS the setting "DDR2 overvoltage control" all values I can choose have leading zeros.

Still getting the BSOD's, and right before them a windows error that I havent been able to read properly in time. This only happens when overclocking, its otherwise perfectly stable.

Setting the system memory multi (SPD) to 2 allows me to overclock the CPU and remain stable, but this underclocks the RAM by almost 300Mhz.

Is the system stable with the CPU at stock and the memory on the x3 System Memory Multiplier (800mhz)?
