Hi i purchased the Krypton Z68 600i Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz Overclocked Bundle with 8GB RAM from Overclockers UK

My problem occurs every time my computer is switched on, it will come on for a few seconds before going off and coming back on, I am then greeted by a message in the BIOS that say "Memory OK Succeeds in booting, save settings in BIOS", I then enter the bios save the settings and it boots up fine however next time I switch off the computer the same error occurs again.

My Specs are as follows:

ASUS P8Z68-V

Intel I5 2500k

Kingston Hyperx Genesis Grey RAM 8GB 1600mhz

Nvidia GTX 580

800w PSU

I have already removed the CMOS battery and reset the jumper without luck.

I have rather stupidly updated the bios already on the motherboard to see if that remedied the situation. I am aware that has avoided my warranty with OCUK.

Another point i should probably make is that if I shutdown the computer, it will boot up no problem within 5 mins of the shutdown however if I switch off the power or leave it shut down for a while the error will occur again. also when I enter the BIOS the PC will reboot itself sometimes after the memory error has occurred

Swapped sticks no change, its almost as if the settings im saving are not being kept once the power is turned off, it keeps resetting the RAM speed back to 1333mhz. Its at a point now where I could throw it through the window!

I've explained the issue to them and sending them what they required, In my opinion the error has got be with the hardware as it did not work before the BIOS update and doesnt go away at stock speeds, The BIOS update only voided the overclock warranty anyway, as long as everything works at stock speed when it comes back then im happy and can go from there :)

Hi
I've sent the system for repair. received an email today saying that it had been repaired and that it had been stuck in ASUS EPU mode. Here's hoping that this is the end of the issue.

Great - if you want to try a moderate clock when it's been up and running for a week or so post back.

Hi
I got the board back yesterday the EPU was stuck on in the Bios meaning it was always in energy saving mode. This is what was causing the issue. They fixed the EPU problem and reclocked the chip. I've had no problems since so I'm very happy especially considering how quick the fixed it with no fuss.

Thanks for your help and for pointing me in the right direction.
