Memory options for Ryzen 3000

I am currently planning on a new build around a Ryzen 9 3900X, and have noticed that the X750 motherboards support much faster RAM speeds (4400+).

I was hoping to go with 2 x 16GB modules, but not sure what speed to go for. A friend who upgraded recently recommended that I go with 2 X 8GB instead, but of 4000+ speed, due the price.

It sounds like Ryzen 3000 may also give large benefits from faster ram, but the costs are substantially higher for anything above 3200...

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Rich.

Until we see some reviews we just don't know. Default memory speed for Zen2 is 3200, anything past that is OC territory, how far Zen2 will get is anyone's guess at this time.

Seems 3600 is the sweet spot: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/bz5b7x/ryzen_3000_ddr_memory_latency_comparison/

4x8 or 2x16 seems to depend on motherboard. Wasnt aware of it until researching a ryzen upgrade but seen it mentioned re. daisy chain v t-topology, where latter works best with 4 dimms.

I'll leave it to others to give a more educated /informed response!
