Memory placement

i just looked on another post and it seems that my memory is in the wrong place, i have a P5Q Pro and ive put my memory in 1 black and one yellow slot, but it still works?
 
It should still work but won't be running dual channel. You can probably confirm that with CPU-Z.

You can move it to be dual channel (assuming it's a matched pair) as it's supposed to improve performance but you probably won't notice.
 
It will work in single channel mode which you can see in CPU-Z. In most cases you put the first stick in the slot closest to the CPU and then the second stick in the slot that is the same colour as the first slot.

this, dual channel is "supposed" to increase performance by 5-10% but i doubt it :p

i would still pop it into the 2 yellow slots anyway :)
