hello, just wanting some advice/help on making sense of these numbers, and seeing if everything is ok.

i have an asus p5k-e wifi motherboard. and 2 sets of this ram
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-119-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817

everything has been left alone in the bios apart from upping the frequency for the cpu.
im getting these in CPU-Z, just wanting to make sense of it, and if thats correct for my ram

thats the same for all 4 slots

thanks in advance.

any idea what i'd be looking at changing there?

on a side note, if i were to but 4 lots of 2 gig in there, would i notice a difference?
main reason is i have a very short attention span and like to game in windowed mode and do firefox/msn, and assumed 8gig would be better for multi tasking (which is what i shall call it)

thanks for the advice

you wouldnt notice any difference going to 8gig from 6gig to be honest, i can window play crysis on my home pc with 2 gig of ram, everything up high 4x AA and still get 50+ fps (W7), that would be to do more with the speed of the hard drive and cpu tbh.

im assuming you know how to enter the bios.?

yea, i did a mild over clock on my q6600 (2.8)
but just left all the ram settings on Auto.

just asked about the 8gig because according to the perf. monitor on my g15 im using 70% of the ram while playing, which led me to believe that maybe i was straining it, and maybe more could help.

but yes, it may well be the harddrive, as i actually luaghed when i saw the benchmark showing how knackered it was.

i would invest in a solid drive before adding more ram, you will see better results.

well in the ram section, just set it from auto to manual, then manualy hit in 1066, and the correct voltage (2.1v) and save :)

and are you using the stock intel cooler for the cpu?

they should hit 3.0 - 3.3GHz no problem...(3.0GHz being the sweet spot for games)

nah got an artic cooling freezer 7 pro, which i'll be replacing/TIMing and i'll try upping it.

what am i setting to 1066, the frequency or? seems to be a million and 1 options there
