Hi, Sometime back I bought an Overclocked bundle which comprised of:
Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz @4.00GHz
Asus P6TD Deluxe Intel X58 (socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2) DDR3 PC3_12800C9(1600MHz) Tri-channel DDR3 Memory
I decided to upgrade my Graphics card to a radeon 6990. To do this I also had to get a bigger case and a more powerful PSU. While in the process of moving the bundle over to the new case and PSU. The new PSU (Adata 1200w) blow my motherboard and 2 sata drives
Anyhow I have now replaced the motherboard (asus Sabertooth x58) and drives and would like to get my CPU overclocked to 4GHz again. As a final parting shot I found out that the adata power supply took one of my ram chips as well. The remaining 2 are now running in dual channnel mode (4GB). I have looked at a few guides and adjusting ram setting seems to be a part of overclocking the CPU (assuming I am reading them correctly). I am wondering if the fact that I am now only running in dual channel mode affects how the cpu is overclocked
