memory question

In system information it says I have only 3.06 GB available physical memory, but I have 4.00 GB Total physical memory. So what is useing the other 1 GB? Is it the os because I have no other programs running.

Must be using 32bit windwos and not 64.

I think it is something to do with the memory on your GPU i believe might be wrong though.
