Using Window 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system

Memory installed

6144MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [1x4096 + 1x2048]

Only showing 5.74GB Usable

Is the correct

As want to take out 2GB and replace with another 4GB , So will this show up 8GB ?

Do you have onboard VGA? If you do, this is where the 'missing' ram has gone.

Why do you need 8gb? Unless you have a specific reason, it will not be needed.

Starting to use photoshop CS5 , so i guess if i get another 4GB , it will not show up as 8GB and loose some on VGA
