Just bought 2x 2x16gb vengeance pro rgb DDR4 3200 @ 16 18 36 ( 64gb total )

These wont run at 3200 16 18 36, computer loads into windows and reboots randomly within a few mins.
I updated the bios, only 1 version off so didnt make no difference, i set the voltage and timings manually to 1.35v 16 18 36 and even gave it 1.37v but no joy.

I lowered the speed in bios to 3000 then everything was fine. I then tightened the timings to 15 16 34 as low as i could get them stable.

Question. Do i RMA this ram, the fact that they wont even run at advertised speeds in concerning.

Previous ram was Kingston DDR4 2666 ( 4x16gb sticks all bought seperately off amazon ) which ran at 2800 15 16 34. I know im not gaining much with the new set but i can get half my money back by selling the kingston set ( which im gonna keep a few weeks incase of problems ).

TIA

What CPU and motherboard are you using the RAM in, is the RAM on the QVL supported list, it may be due to the CPU memory controller not being able to cope with four sticks at that speed, You may need a bit more voltage on the CPU memory controller

9900k and asrock z370 extreme 4...

the 9900k runs usually runs at 5ghz all cores with -30 offset and 2AVX. Mobo is updated to latest bios. Ive tried everything stock, even cleared cmos. unplugged power for 10mins ect.

Thanks for this. Looked up all the crap ( memory is abit harder than CPU i guess - with my kingston ram i just changed the XMP from 2666 to 2800 ( although it worked at 3000 also but didnt want to push it ) and tightened the timings and it was fine )), i added 0.015v to the VCCIO voltage and its up and stable at 3200 with 15,17,34 timings. Cheers.

After further tinkering ive now got cpu @5.2ghz all cores at 1.24vcore ( max, usually around 1.17v under load - my 9900k was from Ocuk last year - first time ive ever had a golden sample in 20+yrs ) and all 64gb of ram running @ 3400mhz with 14,17,34 clocks. Happy with that.
