Memory seating

Hi all....

Whats the best configuration for memory seating? I have a dual channel Gigabyte P55 USB3 with 8 gig of geil black dragon at the mo. Thinking of changing it soon and would like to keep the 8 gigs of whatever i get.

1/ Is it best to fill all four slots with 2 gigs in each or 4 gigs in just 2 of the slots?

2/ Would there be a difference in perfomance between the two configurations?

3/ Any recommendations on memory for the above mother board?

System spec....

P55 USB 3
8 gig of geil black dragon
I5 760 @ stock speed
GTX 470 @ 800/1600/1800
Windows 7 home 64bit
Antec 902

Sorry, just to confirm your using just a single 8gb memory module?

If yes then I would probably just use that, or alternate sell that memory module and go with the 8gb below, on special until tomorrow:

Hi....I'm using four 2gig modules in all slots....sorry, i wasn't so clear on that.

If your not having any issues I would leave as is really, only difference is you might get a better overclock with only 2 memory slots occupied (less stress on the memory controller) and future expansion.

I think the geil ram is 1333mhtz and the kingston is 1600mhtz. this would be better right??

You probably won't notice much difference in day to day use, only in benchmarks.
