Any suggestions for the above ?

DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 ?

Not too worried about super tight timings out of the box, 4-4-4 will do fine. Looking for a 2x1GB Kit. Price in the range of £160-£200.

This will be paired with a Intel Bad Axe 2 and E6600 (I think).

Won't be buying the Geil memory, too many issues surrounding it posted here on the forums.

What about the G.Skill memory ?

Another vote for the crucial 10th anniversary, its so versatile, 3-3-3 upto about 370, 4-4-4 to 500+. Hand picked D9's, dont be fooled by the pc5300 rating.

For G.Skill, I was tempted at this: G.Skill 2GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400

Also what about the Corsair Dominator stuff at DDR2-800 CAS4 ? Seems a decent price.

I think my choice is out of the G.Skill, The Corsair or the Crucial 10th Anniversary......

Wouldn't bother with the PK as according to this list - http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/ - it uses Mosel ic's which I have TBH never heard of. You really want a kit with D9 ic's preferably D9GKX or D9GMH. As you can tell from the list, the corsair used D9's handpicked in earlier but not in the later revs - perhaps the official Corsair guy can confirm what ic's ocuks current batch are using though.
TBH I'd just go for the Crucial 10th, you're pretty much guaranteed an awesome kit because the ic's are handpicked - if I was looking for a 2gb kit, I'd go for that regardless of my budget. Crucials RMA service is also second to none should anything crop up.

Regardless of brand, I'd suggest buying PC6400 speed memory. If you don't intend to OC or want a very mild OC, the Dominator PC6400C4 is fine. However, if you want to OC, I'd suggest the PC8500 or faster Dominator.

Can you seriously recommend any corsair ram above the crucial 10th stuff, i dont think corsair have anything that can match it for performance or price :p

For performance, of course I can. What kind of question is that?

Our PC8888 D, PC9136 D, and PC6400C3D all run just as well or better. I don't price shop as I cannot recommend a vendor as a Corsair rep.
That's up to the OP here to find his deals where he may.

Sorry to go off topic but

Corsair Dominator 8500C5 or Cellshock 8000C4
Do these use the exact same Micron IC's and which one is considered a better overclocker ?

All those are insanely priced, crucial 10th will hit 600fsb 5-5-5 anyway.

So regardless of that, I'd skip the Corsair as those kits are £300+ and go for the £200 Crucial 10th which has been shown (on here) to do DDR 1068 on 4-4-3 timings

No doubt the Crucial is excellent memory (have used it myself) but at the current ~£220 delivered it's in the range of some other extremely good kits (i.e. CellShock PC6400 - same ICs, 8-layer PCB and rather nice 'not-only-cosmetic' heatspreaders with thermal paste on the ICs).

Granted, when the Crucial was £175 (with discounts) to £193 delivered it was without question a 'best buy'. :)

the best ram for price has to be the 2Gb Team DDR2 PC2-6400 Xtreem 4.4.4.10 memory, can be had for 200 pound, this stuff will also
do 3.3.3.8 upto 430mhz so ive seen.

spdyd0.jpg

it uses the same IC as the crucial Tenth Anniversary

i think the crosair memory is way overpriced for fancy heatspreaders
and same IC's used as other manufacturers.

the cellshock will wipe the floor with the crosair
Dominator 8500C5 as the cellshock have Micron D9GKX

it will do 1200 mhz @ 2.4 volts at 4.4.4.12 timings

I haven't seen any of this stuff anywhere, wish ocuk would get on with it and stock it. Saying that, I'm not convinced it'll perform any better than the crucial 10th being that the ic's are handpicked.

Cheers. It's the Cellshock 8000 then for me.
