Silly question here but i've got a quick query about memory speed:

Basically I'm upgrading a computer and the maxium supported memory of the motherboard is DDR2 PC2-4200 according to the manufactuer. However i've installed DDR2 PC2-5300 and it seems to work fine. I'm just worried will this damage the motherboard if its faster than the supported speed?

No it seems to be running at 553MHz as thats what the bios states (latest update). CPU Z also says the same but it recognises its pc2-5300 and states is maxium speed.

It'll be grand. PC2-5300 is the exact same stuff as PC2-4200, just higher-binned.
