Memory Speed...

Hello,

I have a Dell Desktop computer its a Optiplex 380 that has 2 sticks of 2Gb DDR 3 memory.

The memory is rated on the box at 1066Mhz.

CPU-Z is reporting the memory is running at DRAM Freq @ 399Mhz, should it not be 1066Mhz :confused:

Also running Win XP wit SP3 CPU Z reports memory @ 3292Mb, not 4Gb :confused:

The CPU in the system is a Intel Dual Core E5300 2.6Ghz 775 LGA on Intel G41 Express Chipset

Ok so windows xp 32 bit is holding the ammount of RAM back, thought it would be that.

Its a Dell machine and it reports 800Mhz RAM speed in the BIOS with no option to change it to 1066Mhz :confused:

Any ideas ?

Can't change any settings in the BIOS. Must be because its a Dell BIOS.

Not to worry will just leave the memory at what it is

Are you looking at the SPD tab or the MEMORY tab on CPU-Z? Your actual frequency is under the memory tab and is given in MHz.

Looking at the memory tab, the SPD tab is empty.
