memory tester for vista 64 bit?

Vista64 has a built in memory tester.

Windows Memory Diagnostics tool.

found in..
Control panel/System & Maintenance/Administrative tools.

It will require a reboot and peform the tests before windows starts.
 
Memtest86 on a bootable cd would be the best option although im led to believe that using the inbuilt tester isn't as thorough and definitive as memtest is.
 
thanks for that everyone, i have already used the windows one but thoght it might be better to use memtest. but idont know which version or format use
ie. iso or whatever. even if i download the iso one i`m not really sure what do with it. i haven`t got nero on this system at the moment, does windows vista have dvd writing software that can burn an iso image to cd?
i haven`t got an fdd in stalled either.
 
Use Windows Memtest or Prime Large FFT, will generally flag up errors before Memtest does and even ones that Memtest doesn't even find.
 
i`ll dig out my copy of nero and see if it will run on vista 64bit.
if i download the iso version, what exactly do i do with it? im useless with this sort of stuff
