Memory timings - DDR

Just got some Corsair TwinX 2Gb PC3200C2PT DDR SDRAM for my system and had a question about memory timings.

Currently the bios is using the SPD memory settings of 3.0-3-3-8. In all the advertising it says this memory is capable of 2.0-3-3-6.

Would it be a case of entering in these timings manually ???

I am running an Abit NF7-s V1.2 motherboard, AMD Athlon XP3000 Barton CPU running at stock speeds - 333fsb.

My previous memory was 2x 512Mb Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT and these were running at 2.0-3-3-7 without any problems.

I had the same set of RAM in a few 754 boards.

Set it to 2-3-3-6 manually with no issues

Had a play last night with the memory timings and it's running sweet at 2-3-3-6 after I set them manually.

My CAD software's running a treat now with that extra memory.
