hi, just bought some ocz reaper from mm, pc2 8500. memtest is fine, tells me 5-5-5-15
going from memory in sig.
with the hope i will be able to overclock better than before!!

im absolutly hopeless when it comes to memory timing so could someone please advise me on what settings i should be using.

currently got cpu at 3.6 but would like to go higher if pos. could do 3.8 with corsair but was bit glitchy in windows.

thanks Ali

Just to add...

Ram is memtest and orthos stable on adbp1's system but crashes when put under load, from say MW2 etc.

In my system (I'm also a mate of adbp1) the sticks failed memtest (only a few errors at a couple of memory positions) when using all 8gb at the specified timings and voltage regardless of overclock, nb/ram voltages, and this wasn't confined to any one stick although the ram only failed in the first socket on my board. Equally BSOD under load on my setup too

My reapers default was 5-5-5-18 2T to run at 1066mz, but perhaps you have a later revision or something.
For my cpu oc to be rock solid (48hrs prime), I had to underclock them to 900mhz.
Every system is different, and my mobo is a different chipset to yours.
If the ram is failing memtest though it's not good.

I take it you have ran memtest on each individual stick in each socket?

@OP It depends on what CPU bus clock you are using and what memory dividers you have. assuming you are using 9 x 400 and want to go to 9 x 423 to get 3.8GHz, you need to keep your memory at 533Mhz or CPU : DRAM at 4:5 or less. This will run your memory at 423 x 5 / 4 = 529MHz, DDR 1057.5MHz, a 1:1 ratio would give 846Mhz DDR.

@Boff in, yours would have been 8 x 450, I assume using 1:1 to give 900MHz DDR
