Memory timings

Can I ask how I find out on what timings my gskill memory should be?
Manufacturer reports 4-4-4-12 which is where I have it but I see some people changing it at will.

If it's running at what the manufacturer has recommended then they are the timings that have been tested when running at maximum speed.

So if you have a pair of PC6400s running without any overclocking, then the chances are that you'll be able to lower the timings. Bear in mind though that the latest intel processors benefit very little from lower timings. However, increasing the speed of the RAM would be far more beneficial.
