Memory upgrade question

Hi Guys

I've got a quick question that is puzzling me. I recently put a 512Mb memory upgrade in an old laptop of mine which only had 256Mb before. The system now shows only 704Mb of memory when it should be 768Mb. Any ideas ?, o is this like hard drive where what you see and what you ordered are two different things ?

Perfectly normal mate, there will be 768Mb in there, just 64Mb is put aside to be dedicated for the on board graphics, thats why you wont be able to see it.

Everything is fine though
