Memory upgrade time

Hi all,

After a bit of advice please. I currently have 3x2GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800C9 and want to add more so i have 12GB. My motherboard is ASUS rampage 2 extreme with Xeon 5650 @4.1ghz.

Do i buy 3 more sticks of the same RAM or should i get 3x4gb or is there something else i should be looking for to keep a stable overclock?

Can anyone help before i buy.

I dont think my board is compatible with 8gb modules so I was thinking about buying 2x4gb and adding it to my 3x2gb for a total of 14gb.

Anyone see any problem with that?

You might loose your overclock if you mix ram like that with this cpu, i'm not certain though. I have the same issue though with my 5650 setup. I might just try a triple channel 12GB kit to replace the 6GB kit.
