Memtest errors

Got my new kit running but I'm getting random freezes, memtest reveals a single error on every pass - Test 5, 16.8~17.6MB blocks, same place every time pretty much... doesn't say which DIMM, I'll take a look in a bit. But is there anything I can try? I've tried overvolting vdimm to 1.9v, CPUV to 1.3v, CPUTV to 1.3v, and slowing it to 667MHz. No joy.

Only thing I can think of, the network card - last PC it was in also froze randomly every so often, like every few weeks, but I presumed it was drivers. This time it freezes whenever it's left to idle.

Any ideas before I go in to do my stuff?

EDIT: Sorry forgot to add, it's:
E2140 @ Stock
PNY 2x1GB C5 @ 800MHz 1.8v
Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L
Antec Basiq
Netgear WG311v3
WD1600AAJS
HP DVD400I

Cheers

If you think that it is your Network Card going into Idle that is causing the freezes, then
why don't you try going into your Power management settings then advanced and changing
the profile so that it does not go into idle mode.

That way you will know if it is definitely the Network Card.

Other thing is if memtest is showing an error on the same place every time then chances
are its nothing to do with the Network Card but you have a faulty stick of memory in
the system, take a stick out and run the test again and see if it gets faults again, If so
put hte previous stick back in and take another out etc etc...... you get were im going
with this.

That will let you know which stick is faulty

Gonna try in a bit I think. Oddly enough, changed the timings from 5-5-5-18 to 4-4-4-12 @ 1.9v, no errors just yet. Not holding my breath though.

That might solve the problem then.

If the memory is not running at the timings that it is ment to though I would still
say that there was a problem with it, especially if it cant handle on whats its
ment to be at.

Current situation: seems to be working fine with DIMM2 only. Gonna test DIMM1 in DIMM2 and vice versa.

EDIT: Working fine with "Bad stick" in both slots. Gonna try "Good stick in both slots", then both simultaneously. Maybe cleaning the slot was a fix.

EDIT2: All working now, a few reseats seems to have done it.

EDIT3: Still was freezing when going into standby, changed the IRQ of the WG311v3 and it's now running beautifully.
