Hi

As above really.

trying to test my RAM to see if its ok.

a) Can I test all 4 sticks at the same time. (If yes and it fails 1 stick at a time)
b) If 1 stick at a time do I use the same slot for all the sticks. (if stick fails try another slot ?)
c) what test do I use bios std or bios all

Thank you.

A - That's how I would do it.

B - I would use the same slot if testing individually. If it fails when testing all 4 sticks together, but passes when testing them individually, I would start testing the slots to see if one is flakey.

C - I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Are you using the Memtest86+ bootable .iso ? If so, then just let it boot and run.

C) if you select configure you can select test. it has the 2 options. Bios all fails straight away. But that may be down to board

Will reboot and let it run.

Thanks

I would opt for 1 stick at a time on around a 2 hour test each using the same slot personally. Might take some time though but I know its a good test. I would also default the bios too incase its something to do with a overclock or configuration in the bios.

I would start with a) and the find the bad stick(s) if any, then try them in different slots just to make sure. However I wouldn't put 100% faith with memtest, it's good for finding some faults but I got some geil ram that was blatantly broken and for some reason (and I was surprised) it did past memtest for seemingly endless hours but the ram would cause major problems while in a OS, got it RMA'ed eventually :).
