Due to having some problems with my pc for the past few days (pc crashing leaving me on a coloured screen with lines down it), I decided to test my ram with memtest, 3-4 hours into the test i got this (2 different errors)

any ideas?

Stuff that comes to mind:

The ram may be riddled and whatever small amount is procured by memtest is casuing corruption.
Try returning to stock or downclocking the cpu/ram/upping volts, see if that alleviates the prob.
It could be a corrupt memtest, (or usb/cd) try redownloading a fresh copy.
Maybe dodgy ram slot/s or failing board or cpu.

(I dont envy your troubleshooting :()

list your pc specs, coloured screens with lines down it are usually graphic card memory related,is it whilst gaming?

can be pc memory but gpu memory first

i7-2700K 3.50GHz
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P-B3
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz
MSI HD 6970 OC 2048MB Twin Frozr II 2048M
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series
OCZ ZX Series 850W 80+ GOLD

and does it happen in gaming? 16gb you might need more dram voltage and cpu vtt

i dont know what amount your using atm?

I'm just using the stock settings/auto in bios for the ram

Yes the coloured screen happens in gaming

I made a thread in gpu forums lastnight, I'm pretty sure its gpu causing the crashes, still would like to understand why memtest is showing all this though...

I downloaded Memtest 86+ and ran it for 8 hours and so far so good... i removed the ram and gave them a clean etc, so problem solved i think. :D
