Here's a thread that could be amusing, brought on by the other "Should I buy a T Shirt for £80" thread.

Any other guys (oh and girls too but I thought it would be more funny to see the guys) into shopping for "decent" clothes?

From suits to shirts to jeans and socks I've also found spending decent money buys much superior quality clothes. And I'm not talking about £80 for a pair of jeans, the difference between £80 for a pair of jeans and £20 for a pair of jeans is the name whereas £150 to £250 buys a far superior cut and much better material.

My wardrobe consists of probably 60% Hugo Boss (awesome suits) with a large sprinkling of Prada and Armani (not Armani Jeans the brand which is a load of tosh).

So, any favorite brands for you and why?

Where do you shop? I'm based in Stoke and head to Liverpool quite a lot were of course Wades and Vivienne Westwood are good destinations, Birmingham has ample outlets too. Once a year I do a long weekend in Rome too where I can save a fortune buying suits and shirts and have a nice time too.

To answer the obvious question which will now arise, no I'm not gay.

And before you all **** me off saying I'm crazy for spending that kind of money on clothes, I think over £100 for a graphics card or CPU is just as crazy, different horses as they say ;)

So am I the odd one out on OcUK? (fully expecting the answer to that to be yes)

Personally at the moment, i wouldnt buy, taking your £80 t-shirt as an example, i wouldnt buy it, because its all down to finances, i cant afford it.
If i could afford to splash out on Armani, Hugo Boss, etc then i would, but until then, i have to do my shopping during the sales :) or save up a bit.

The most expensive item of clothing i have are a pair of £50 fcuk jeans ;p

That raises a good point actually, good clothes aren't always expensive if you hit the end of season sales and don't mind "last years" styles.

I picked up a previously £1100 Armani bikers jacket for £200.

Mainly charity shops, hell I'm a clothes horse I look good in anything, lol :p Picked up some awesome stuff as well, Harrods jacket that's a perfect fit for £5 etc etc

Also helps that my mate down in Bournemouth had way too many clothes and he loves his designer stuff so he gave a load to me :D

I use to spend and buy what I called fashionable items that lasted a few months or fell apart. Now I just buy items that do the job, mainly as I do a lot of outdoor activities, so I need suitable clothing to reflect my activities.

i need to go man clothes shopping.

get a whole load of different coloured polo shirts for the summer. cheap as chips. i always get them for the summer. maybe i might get some decent shorts this year for the summer.

maybe football shorts, england, milan, newcastle. who knows...

ive already got my new 2 pair of shoes(trainers), maybe a new pair of jeans and that is it really. maybe a few "pretty boy" t shirts that impress the girls... but yeh

I love clothes shopping as long as I'm going on my own without the misses.

I tend to go for Diesel jeans and Ted Baker t-shirts. The reason I go for these brands is because of the perfect fit they seem to have. People say I'm crazy for spending £130 on the latest pair but the quality really is a lot better than your typical top man jeans that fall out of shape after a few washes imo.

Ted Baker t-shirts are great. Excellent quality and the fit is awesome.

I'm not gay either and yes I do use sunbeds and have my hair cut at a 'hair dressers' and not a barbers :D

I don't buy particular brands but the ones I have most of are

Shirts - Boss / Paul Smith
Dress Shirts - Eton / Cornelliani
Casual tops - Paul Smith / Boss / Paul & Shark
Jeans - Red Ear
Shoes - Jeffery West/Bally/Gucci
Trainers - Prada
Jackets - Paul Smith
My suits are from loads of different places

Just to prove that I don't but just "name" stuff though my work clothes come from Matalan , Suits you and M&S , I'm not spending good money on stuff to ruin at work

im the cheapest person in the world :p

I've actually been thinking of shaving the hair (on my head). I recon I could get a good sponsorship going at work. Misses says I'd look like a chav because I have a few scars. Cheeky ****** :p

Jeffrey West shoes are my favorite too, given my job I have to wear decent stuff so I murder a couple of pairs of them a year but it's worth it.

Not a bit Paul Smith fan, I do like his socks and have a couple of Paul Smith shirts but I'm prefer the plain materials and fine cuts of Prada generally.

I'm a bit on the "chunky" side so Prada shirts are a non starter for me :p

Ahhh, I'm 6 foot and 11.5 stone so Prada is perfect for me, they really are the "skinny mans brand"

Goood, I'm not the only one that spends loads on clothes.

I usually spend around 40-50 pounds on a tshirt, and then can go up to 70 pounds for jeans.

I tend to wear henry lloyd, fcuk, peter werth, ted baker etc etc.

Has anyone ever thought that the retail industry treats woman much better? You can find loads and loads of womans shops everywhere, walk into them, find whatever your after, loads and loads of stuff, at really good prices, and then you get a couple of guys shops here and there, and its very very hard to find what your looking for.
