Men using sun beds

Indeed. In fact it's known as homo-vain. That's the official term.

Just go outside on a sunny day and do it that way. The sun doesn't charge you money for it.

No, but it requires time being in the sun, and time is money.
Also, that requires relying on the weather, which would be ok, however this is britain we're talking about. :p

Good god man... sitting in the relatively weak UK sun to get a tan would be a waste of a day. Several days in fact. :p

 Spend a day sitting in the sun on a hot day next week and see if you get sunburnt.

I know Britain's not Mexico, but our summers can get quite hot.

I consider spending time sunbathing a waste of a day. But to get a similar tan as one i'd get on the sunbed in 4 x 6-minute sessions i'd need to be out in the English sun for a good few hours for a good few days... and that's out of the question. Besides, the sun is now a bit inconsistent so if I relied on sunbathing, how could I be sure i'd get some good sun over the next couple of weeks? No need for the confused smilies just for the sake of argument mate, you know what point i'm making. For many of us sunbeds provide a quick and easy way of getting a tan that would otherwise be a great inconvenience in many ways if we left it to natural means. :)

But if the country you live in only gives you patchy sunlight, why go extrovert and rely on an artificial light as well? Everyone else in the country is exposed to the same sun as you, so having that added tan on top of the normal amount, makes you look odd. Do you see what we're saying? :)

Heres my top tip.

Go to sunbeds on hot sunny days then when anyone asks just say you were out in the sun. Do it in winter people will know you have been on them :)

P.S Thats is if you care what people think.

Spending time in the sun is out of the question? Are you allergic? What an extremely weird thing to say. The second that the sun is shining I'm sat on my balcony with a beer, walking in the park, sat in a beer garden, trekking up a hill, etc etc etc.

People who regulary use sunbeds generally end up looking like wrinkled up old folk (usually with an addiction to pink shirts).

Pansies the lot of ya! :p

I see exactly what i'm saying... and I find it distinctly odd that you're carrying this argument on to such lengths to be honest. I personally think a tan looks healthier, I look good without it but think I look better with it, and I think summer is a nice time to have a tan. Regardless of what you think on a personal level, it's my decision to make... making your objections to it, indeed your arguments against what I am saying, completely irrelevant. YOU think a tan makes people look odd... but many many people don't. Not sure what you feel the need to prove here, considering there is nothing to prove... there's no reason anyone should have to defend their choice to use a sunbed.:)

I find sunbathing a waste of time, as was pretty obvious form the post I made. I can think of far better things to do than sit motionless on a beach or deckchair getting a tan, when I can do the same in a MUCH shorter amount of time on a sunbed. I also don't like that level of persistent heat over a long period of time, makes me sweaty and irritable.

Ok? ;)
