Merc CLK 320...any good?

I didn't think much of the W211 to be honest, the W212 is nice, but the W211 ...errr, well to me it's sort of like what you said about the E60, there isn't really much actually wrong with it ...it's just not that appealing as a package, it's not that well made, it's not that reliable ...it's ..well at least it's a damn site better than the car it replaced the W210 ...which was crap (compared to the E39).

Thats a W124.

I somewhat doubt somebody in the market for a £10-15k car and considering a 58 plate C Class would instead decide to buy a 1992 W124.

Yes, it was the W124 i meant, My point being however, it was made before Merc went through their poor build quality phase, so if he wants a good quality, reliable merc, which his dog is going to get mucky anyway, then look at the W124 for much less, than spend £12k on a newer model, which the dog will likely ruin anyway!

As for the E60, i have to be honest, i bought one in March this year, without a BMW warranty, and although, nothing went wrong with it, i was always worried that if something did go wrong, it would probably cost a fortune, which tbh, spolit my ownership of it somewhat. It was nice to drive though, but i had the pre LCI, which frankly, the interior was poor in hindsight. I'm enjoying the A6 a whole lot more than i did the E60, however, the E60, was a nicer drive in every way.
