At our mess they ask for a £25 annual 'sub' in order to keep the drinks prices down. I feel that somewhere along the line it must be out of line with standard policy to force people to pay this money. It doesn't make any sense, all it does is reward those who drink more than average and take money from those who drink less.
By lowering the price at the point of consumption it will increase consumption and encourage binge drinking.
Does anyone else have to pay mess subs?
