What exactly happens for a message to be considered delivered and the network will then send you a report?
Do you actually have to press view or as long as it has reached your phone (unviewed)?
Girlfriend is accusing me of not bothered to reply because everytime she sends a message to me she immediatelly gets a report from the network.
My phone is MDA Vario II running Windows Mobile 6.1, I'm not sure what's happening because I don't have a "normal" phone to test. Is it different from something like say Nokia N95?

I believe it is when it is sent out by the recipient's network. So at your phone unread.

If she wants a read receipt thats what she needs to get.

No she's actually very lovely :p It's just that we're not together at the moment as she's doing post doc at Warwick and needs to be in constant touch. I miss her dearly :(

I would like to add that your girlfriend seems obsessive and possibly very irritating :o

omg, tell her to stop being so stupid! Does she expect you to sit staring at the phone just waiting to reply to any message she sends you??? If you need an instant reply phone the person!

I've explained to her that receiving a report doesn't mean that the message has bean read, all is well now. Getting a new girlfriend is easy but getting someone like her is not so think I'll pass ;)

:) Glad it worked out.

I'd be screwed if my gf was like that, at the moment we've only seen each other for about 1 month in the past 10 and on average I don't get around to replying to emails till the following day!

When she's a qualified doc, would she be able to text YOU back as soon as you sent her one?

Dump her imo.

Well, she IS a doc already and yes she always texts back after she reads my message.
I'm not going into this "to dump or not" conversation as I find it a bit irritating now.
If you think it's a valid reason to dump your girlfriend then good for your soon-to-be-ex.:o
