meta is dying ?

If he'd stuck with headsets for gaming instead of VR whatscrapp, then it might not be going so much down the pan. The mentalverse isn't what the kids want.

well, whether its true or not, i wish i clicked on the link and saved it now

its odd that if you do an actual search, i think its not a loss

Mark Zuckerberg is $12 billion richer after Meta stock surged

From CNN's Rob McLean

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is more than $12 billion wealthier today than 24 hours earlier, thanks to the Facebook parent company’s surging stock.
The company’s stock jumped 23.28% to $188.77 on Thursday — a gain of $35.65 per share.
Zuckerberg owns about 350 million shares of the company. Those shares brought in nearly $12.5 billion on Thursday as Meta’s stock climbed.
Not bad for one day on the market.

is vr dying? I hope not.... but PCVR is not in a great state at the minute imo. I mean... I am fine there is heaps I have not played yet and I am fine with fan made mods... but a lot of the most looked forward to games of 2023 are either psvr exclusives or meta.

the new alien game is so far unknown... but I am dreading that being Sony or quest exclusive . (and I own a quest 2 as well)

so long as I can play Sims and elite in VR I will cope however. everything else is gravy (and I have still not started alyx yet)

Valve have been a huge disappointment recently in VR. The Index could have done with a mid-life upgrade with higher resolution panels and better lenses, and eye tracking. I'd have happily bought an Index Pro or Index+ to replace my current Index headset.

They also dropped the ball majorly on the software side. They produced a couple of VR games (if you include The Lab) while Oculus (as they were then) produced loads of high quality content. (Though Meta have now basically abandoned PC VR games development).
