Went to change my FB profile picture to my ginger cat and was suspended, despite providing government issued disabled bus pass and birth certificate as ID I have now been blocked with no way of appeal. Guess what? My Quest 3 account is linked through Meta, the company should be dragged through every court in the country.

Really sorry to hear that! The only way to get these things fixed seems to be to make a noise on social media.

Doesn't help you now, but this confirms the point that you should never link your FB account to your Meta account. It's just too dangerous, especially as the rules over FB banning accounts are obscure and change randomly. :(

Don't go to Facebook support. Go to Meta support and ask them to unlink your Facebook and Meta accounts. Try the link below.

Contact Meta Store Support

Contact Meta Store and device support
www.meta.com www.meta.com

Now either login to your Meta account (not your Facebook account) or try another method.

Keep going through the support pages until you get the option to chat. When you get the chat option, fill in your details and ask them to unlink your Facebook and Meta account. You might be asked to change password etc.

Good luck.

Sadly the horse has bolted and the account gone. Since I am now suspended from Meta if I open a new account and buy games the chances are the robots will ban me and I lose more money.
 
Google AI suggests going to auth.meta.com try to login and submit a request for review, or go to the Meta store support centre, Navigate to Account Issues and open a live chat to talk with a human agent.

You don't have to have an account to get as far as chat. Click on the the verify with another method in the link above. That uses the serial number of your headset to get support. The Meta account and Facebook account can be unlinked even after a Facebook ban. The important thing is to get chatting to a real person in Meta support not Facebook support.

It's the same with support with any of the big multinationals. It depends on who you get connected with on the support. A good support person and you have a great experience, bad support person and it can be a nightmare.
 
my personal experience hasnt been that great, the problem got resolve came back again, got resolved came back again, got resolve and i need to re-check but i think its come back again were i cant purchase anything through meta. i know thats a different experience to this but it goes beyond support
 
not really help but,

i wish you all the best of luck, as i had a FB account years ago, i asked them to delete it, which they did, wanted it back a year later, submitted forms if ID several times, they refused to even acknowledge me

bought a quest 3, hey presto, got the account back , weird (registered Quest 3 with meta or something idk)
 
Found out the reason for the ban....acting like a half decent human being. I belonged to the biggest group for my town. Having a bad back caused by an injury in the R.N I struggle to get out, recently I had started hobbling around town with a DSLR taking pictures of buildings and features, walking slowly I would notice things like air bricks. I had posted up 100s of pictures and would help out people if I could, it seems donating a few pairs of spare solar glasses, a microwave and curtains to members in need was disposal of business assets and went against community guidelines!

out of curiosity why were you banned? if it was in error and undeserved do you not have a legal comeback ? if not that is outrageous that legally any company can do that.

Seems there are 10s of thousands of people in a similar position, half the problem is AI is used to monitor messages and posts, it is also used to verify ID. My birth certificate is handwritten and quite hard to read, despite it being an acceptable form of ID the robots have issues with it. Am not happy having to try bank statements and medical records, am sure it is all data harvested.
 
The rules are so arbitrary and it's almost impossible to get issues resolved. A company shouldn't be able to cancel an account that has purchases on it without a refund.

This is why I was so against having to use a Facebook account for Quest devices when they introduced it. As you can only ever have one Facebook account then having that banned would mean you could never ever have access to any devices that used that login, such as smart glasses. You could be locked out of employment if the devices were used as widely as Facebook/Meta wanted them to be. (Not that they are, but people do depend on Facebook accounts for business).
 
Good luck OP, what melmac and Ravenger have suggested seems the best course of action, I've tried to get through to a human for support numerous times recently, no luck, if you can get through to a human you'll have a better chance most probably.
 
I threw together a very messy Wordpress website, the blog page shows the message I received to start with, despite 6 attempts to verify my ID I was still flagged and my account deleted. I never had any business or adverts running on my account, all very depressing and has removed about the only reason for me making painful excursions outside https://dorchester-streets.co.uk/
