Metal Gear Online - The PS3 Multiplayer Thread

Well, I am now official confused. I wish MGO just used PSN names. This is why LIVE is so successful, you don't need a masters degree to figure **** out.

Konami ID is for logging into Konami and managing your details/payments with them (as this is the first game in the West to use Konami ID that means absolutely nothing)
Game ID is for logging into MGO itself.
Then, finally, the character name is used to identify us to one another in game both for clan and friend purposes.

so simple and streamlined....

So we just add your GAME ID or your character name to the MGO friends list? I played the beta but didn't spend too much time figuring out how the friend system works or anything else apart from the gameplay.

I thought Payton's job was to make this game user friendly? :confused:

Metal Gear Online is out on the 12th of june. It comes with Metal Gear Solid 4.
 
I thought that too. He also mentioned a redefined, much better control system a number of times.. yet the final scheme is still quite complicated :confused:
 
My ID for PSN and Konami is rp2000


tbh you should reset the list of users in OP as I am assuming not everyone who had the free beta will get the paid version of MGS4 which comes with MGO starter pack.

MGO is not for the casual gamer, the controls take a good 2-3 hours to get right. It has a huge learning curve, maybe the biggest learning curve for an online third person shooter. I still didn't do everything gameplay wise in the beta, or know how to for that matter and I logged about 13 hours into it.

Character name, which are probably all wiped. As rp2000 says, may as well wipe the list and add to it with character names as people actually sign up.

edit: the reason no one remembers what to use is that intially we just used an OCUK game to join in on and then when the clan was setup we all applied to join the clan, then after that just used clan affiliation to join in games, no one actually exchanged IDs.

But I'll say this again, anyone who didn't join the beta and thus hasn't got a konami ID, get it now, just truDue to a period of inactivity, the page has been deleted.

I'll just wait and see how this whole MGO thing works out before deleting the list. I spent a good 10 minutes organizing the list into alphabetical order. :(
 
I heard a rumour that you can play as raiden in sneak mode and use all his ninja like moves along with octo camo!!! Anyone got any hard facts on this? Maybe this is the huge surprise they have for us on thursday? Or maybe the surprise is you can use METAL GEAR RAY in sneak mode. :D

I believe you can play as Psycho Mantis so this doesn't surprise me.
